Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability Field Education's mission is to improve student learning outcomes through active and experiential education in the School.  We do this through introductory field trips, Field TA training, and field methodology courses. We also provide educational resources and support for field education throughout the school, and help connect instructors and students to any physical resources related to field trips that they might need.

For more information on projects and resources available to Stanford faculty, staff, and students, including the Inclusivity in Field Education Project, please see the Education and Teaching Page on the SDSS intranet (SUNet Login required).

During COVID-19, we have been focused on creating virtual field resources and consulting with instructors on how to include these resources in online courses.

Please contact Ryan Petterson if you have questions or would like to discuss how to incorporate field education, or virtual field education into your courses.
